Marty Grubbs
Director
Marty is originally from East Central Indiana near Muncie. He attended Ball State University where he studied Theatre direction and production. After college he was the Auditorium director at Highland High School and was there from 1992 until 2003. He then moved back to his hometown and became the Education and Artistic Director at Muncie Civic Theatre.
Being back home was a great time in his life and he loved working in the community where he grew up. In 2010 Marty returned to Chicago and changed careers a bit when he became a recruiter for a Recruitment Processing Outsource organization. Since his return to this part of the Midwest he’s had the honor to direct a couple of productions at the Towle Theatre located in Hammond. Marty has a simple philosophy about theatre and life in general; If it’s not fun, and you don’t enjoy it, then don’t do it! He hopes you have fun tonight. If you laugh, cry, or have an emotional reaction then he’s done his job. Thanks for coming! “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their mind to be.”- Abraham Lincoln
